SysGears provided front-end staff augmentation to a business operating a digital learning and knowledge-sharing platform. Working as an extension of the client’s in-house development team, our engineer followed pixel-perfect design specifications to implement user experiences for a number of new services being rolled out.

The scope of work included user experiences for multiple AI document processing options that let users engage with study materials in the way they prefer. Throughout the project, our developer worked efficiently with the client’s backend engineers, project managers, and designers, collaborating on the new UI elements and user pathways being implemented.

Our client was an Italy-based business at the forefront of implementing generative AI in eLearning at scale. Having built a solid footing among its home target audiences, it has since branched out to help facilitate mutual learning and efficient use of time by students worldwide.

They needed additional frontend development skills to roll out new user-facing services on schedule as they add new products and solutions to their platform. That is where we come in.

After initial discussions, they noted that our staff augmentation services fit their needs well in terms of cooperation model, and we provided them with an expert frontend developer whose skill set matched the project’s technical requirements.

Following a brief, structured introduction and onboarding period, our engineer familiarized himself with the client’s technologies, specifications, and existing UI components, integrating into the project structure without issue. The team communicated over Slack, with weekly Google Meet check-ins and progress demos.

Our client was extending their platform to include new, AI-powered features that can help students parse study materials and lecture transcripts, and organize their notes in a way that is conducive to effective learning. They had already handled most of the backend AI feature development by the time they contacted us, and needed assistance implementing the user-facing side in alignment with strict design specifications.

The main challenges our developer came to overcome include:

• Lack of in-house frontend expertise: The client’s team planned to roll out new features according to their roadmap but needed a frontend developer experienced with generative AI who could onboard quickly and help them stay on track.
• Pixel-perfect design specifications: The client had very specific design requirements and precise Figma mock-ups that needed to be translated into user-facing interfaces and experiences while staying consistent across various devices and screen sizes.
• Transparent, user-centric service experience: Because the platform’s purpose is to support learning, the UI/UX needed to be intuitive and streamlined for easy use. This added frontend requirements that weren’t previously considered in the design documentation.

During our partnership, our client’s in-house designer working on a separate solution became unavailable. To fill the gap, they hired a designer from our team, avoiding a lengthy search for new candidates and limiting the associated overhead costs. Our expert adapted and evolved the client’s current design to match the updates they were introducing to their offering, working on WordPress layouts and adjusting key pages for an appropriate viewing experience across a variety of devices.

The end result was a full hand-off to the client’s developers for implementation and deployment of the updated UI/UX.
